Horse riding body protectors are worn to help offer impact protection. Impacts such as falls when riding, kicks and knocks from objects such as poles or trees are common causes of injuries that could have been less severe if a body protector had been worn. They are made from heat sensitive PVC foam that mould to the contours of a riders body when worn. It is important to note that horse riding body protectors do not offer the wearer protection from extreme flexion, severe torsion, extension or crushing of the body and also does not offer any spinal protection.
